The Chronicles of Hallowdwell
Deathburst Leather Armor
A remarkable and imposing set of leather armor given to Ouroboros by a group of Eladrin after his compelling forewarnings of doom to the Elven Council. This armor had been preserved for several hundred years, and is the subject of a great Elven myth. According to legend, an Eladrin who lost his beloved and pined for her for months. The Raven Queen, who is without pity, took pity upon him and gave him the opportunity—and not the promise—to be with her again, where she waited for him, unable to leave that plain for love of him. The lords of that dark place would not give her up so easily, and so the Eladrin fought and slew a dark figure who had imprisoned her there. But the Raven Queen had not told the Eladrin that the barrier his lover passed through could not be passed back from, and he could be with her again only in that shadowy place. He was willing to live out his life in that middle place between life and death, but his lover could not bear him to do so. She bid him the goodbye she could not do so before and crossed over into the gentle, waiting arms of the Raven Queen. The Eladrin returned to Greenwood, bringing with him the armor of his slain foe as proof of his tale.
The design of the armor certainly seems as if it could have been brought from the darkest depths of the Shadowfell. The armor is jet black in color, and its buckles and latches are moonlight silver. Most of the latches are designed to look like fanged skulls.
